New phenomenon in festival food hits Jersey this July
Jersey Pottery and Grassroots have joined forces this summer to present a totally new concept in festival catering. ‘Jersey Pottery - Grassroots Global Street Food’ will launch at the boutique summer festival taking place on Saturday 31st July at Val de la Mare Reservoir.
Having listened carefully to festival goers at previous events and inspired by the hugely popular ‘Harvest at Jimmy’s’, which successfully blends great music with top quality food, Jersey Pottery and the Grassroots teams have created an exciting and innovative new element to the music festival experience in Jersey.
Commenting on the partnership Linzi Wilson, co founder Allez-oop Promotions, said: “We're so excited to be able to announce the concept of ‘Jersey Pottery Grassroots Global Street Food’ and are immensely proud to be working with such a first rate local organisation.”
Discussing the motivation behind the enterprise she went on to say “Last year we visited the ‘Harvest at Jimmy’s’ festival which, just like Grassroots, is held in a stunning location, bringing people together to enjoy fabulous music in the great outdoors; each year they showcase delicious, sustainable and freshly made food, working with Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen, The Hairy Bikers, Thomasina Miers amongst others. We were really inspired by their passion in providing great food at a festival, and started brainstorming ideas for how we could incorporate this into our Allez-oop events. Immediately, Jersey Pottery came to mind; we love their approach to food and it’s a great local company with extremely high standards.”
Director of Jersey Pottery Matthew Jones said “Jersey Pottery is thrilled to be working with the Grassroots Festival. Our new menu ideas will change peoples’ perception of music festival catering and we want to make great quality but affordable food an integral part of the festival experience. We are confident that the theme of Global Street Food will be a great addition to this year’s festival. Looking to the future we have plans to grow this interesting partnership and watch it develop in the coming years.”
Festival-goers can expect delicious, healthy, excellent value food; including tasty treats from the South American Spice Centre such as enchilada’s with salsa, cheese, sour cream and jalapeño’s or tortilla chips with sour cream , spicy tomato salsa and chunky guacamole for just £2.25.
